This recipe is great, quick and easy for the children to help make and will keep for almost a month if stored in an airtight container. Do not feel tempted to eat it however!!! The measurements are all given in cups and it does not matter what size cups you use so long as you make sure the correct proportions are used as stated below.
2 cups plain flour 1 cup table salt a few drops of food colouring of your choice 30ml vegetable oil Approx 1 cup of water - see cook's note Plain flour for kneading
In a large bowl mix together the flour and salt. Then sitr in a few drops of your chosen food colouring and the vegetable oil and add enough water to make into a soft but not sticky dough. Transfer to a lightly floured work surface and knead thoroughly until you get a smooth dough, adding a little more flour if needed. Use as required but store in an airtight container when not in use. Will keep in a cool place for up to 4 days. Cook's Note The amount of water needed for this recipe could differ from one pack of flour to the next but as an average it will need 1 cup but could need more.
