These delicious nibbles are a great variation on a sausage roll but with a difference. They are a snack that really is best eaten whilst still warm.
Makes 4
4 thick slices white bread, crust removed 1 heaped tbsp American mild mustard 4 cooked chipolata sausages 15g butter, melted
Pre-heat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6. Using a rolling pin. Roll the bread slices to flatten slightly then spread each with the mild mustard. Arrange a cooked chipolata in the centre of each slice of bread diagonally, then roll each slice up incorporating the sausage and secure in place with a cocktail stick. Repeat with the remaining sausages and bread slices. Place the sausage bites on a baking tray and brush the outsides of each with a little of the melted butter. Place in the preheated oven to cook for 8 - 10 minutes until piping hot, crisp and golden. Serve immediately.
