Sesame Cheese Scone

Makes 11 Scones
Ingredients
200g/8oz self-raising wholemeal flour
25g/1oz butter or margarine
75g/2½oz cheese, finely grated
1 clove of garlic, crushed
30ml/2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
15ml/3 tsp sesame seeds
125ml carton natural yoghurt
Milk or beaten egg and sesame seeds to decorate
Method
Rub the fat into the flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, or use food processor. Stir in the cheese, garlic, parsley, and sesame seeds. Add yoghurt to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface and roll out to form a circle 2cm/¾" thick. Place on a baking tray and score with a knife into 8 wedges. Alternatively, cut into eleven rounds using a 5cm/2" cutter and place overlapping in a circle on a tray. Brush with milk or beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 222C/gas 7 for 20 minutes until risen and golden brown. To serve, split and fill with salad, spread with curd cheese or use as an accompaniment to other dishes.
