Serves 4
1 baguette 1½oz/40g butter chopped fresh chives, parsley and oregano 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 tbsp/15ml lemon juice black pepper
Soften butter, add herbs, crushed garlic, lemon juice and black pepper. Mix thoroughly. Cut baguette into 1" diagonal slices, spread butter on both sides of slices and reassemble loaf. Wrap in foil and bake at 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4 for about 15 mins. Open foil for last couple of minutes of baking to crisp loaf. Serve hot.
