Home baking is on the increase and so is the cakestand

The number of people baking at home in an effort to save money has risen sharply, according to a number of retailers who have seen sales of baking-related products increase by over a third during the last year

Young people in particular have taken to home baking as they look to offset the effect of rising food prices. 

Also on the rise due to the popularity of programmes such as The Great British Bake Off is the traditional cake stand, as the nation rediscovers the pleasure of baking and the tradition of taking afternoon tea.
