What is in self-raising flour?

Answer:

Sodium hydrogen carbonate and calcium phosphate are the raising agents that are added to self-raising flour in the UK.   You can also make your own self-raising flour by adding 2 levels of tsp baking powder to every 225g (8oz) of plain flour.
